While polo did not fulfil its early promise on the West Coast, the men who had first learned the game from the Royal Navy took their new passion to the B.C. Interior and founded a lively tradition of fine polo centred on the town of Kamloops and the Okanagan Valley. By the end of the First Era, Vancouver had also seen its first matches, laying the foundation for a succession of great teams and players that would come to dominate B.C. polo throughout the post-war years.
