In 1945, when the Calgary Polo Club held its first annual meeting in five years, it became the only club in Canada to have survived the war. It would be years, even decades, before they would see other Western teams come back onto the field and, in the lean years of the 1950s, it was all the club could do to keep the game alive. It would take a new generation of passionate players and dedicated patrons to lead the club into the world-wide revival of the 1970s and, in 1990, to celebrate its first century of play.
